Public Service, Emergency Response, and Civic Engagement
Since his high school years, Prince Jordan Tyson has maintained a lifelong commitment to public service, government affairs, emergency response, and humanitarian assistance. Although there are complex and deeply personal circumstances surrounding his early recruitment into emergency service work as a minor, he nevertheless chose to follow the honorable legacy established by his grandparents—a legacy rooted in protecting, serving, and advocating for others
As a Minor Prince was illegally recruited; while at school with his friends in 1990. Somehow he slipped through the cracks and was enjoined to the (CCC) California Conservation Corps- marking the beginning of his many decades of public service and emergency response involvement. Since that time, Prince has participated in numerous rescue efforts and emergency assistance situations, helping to save the lives of both people and animals. While many of these incidents were never formally documented, the examples presented (see below videos) represent only a small portion of the nearly one hundred rescue-related responses and interventions in which he has participated throughout his lifetime.
Among these documented examples, Prince was the first individual on the scene in Hollywood, California, in 2020, where he rendered aid to a pedestrian who had been struck and critically injured in a vehicle / pedestrian collision. In 2021, while traveling through Stagecoach, Colorado, he again stopped to assist occupants of a vehicle that had gone over a cliff, plnanning to providing emergency aid until additional responders arrived.
Perhaps most notably, Prince never sought recognition, publicity, or personal praise for his actions. Throughout his life, he has consistently chosen service over self-promotion, preferring to remain an anonymous contributor to the safety and well-being of others. The only reason these experiences are being publicly shared today is because circumstances created a compelling need to document and preserve this history of service.
Beyond emergency response, Prince has long been committed to protecting communities, supporting victims, promoting public safety, and exposing misconduct when necessary. He has repeatedly demonstrated a willingness to speak out against criminal activity, corruption, and abuses of authority involving individuals and institutions entrusted with serving the public.
In 2017, his efforts to expose governmental and institutional misconduct received national attention when television host John Oliver featured aspects of his whistleblowing activities during a nationally televised segment examining allegations of corruption and misconduct affecting citizens and communities. This public recognition reflected Prince’s longstanding belief that protecting people sometimes requires not only acts of physical courage, but also the moral courage to speak truthfully and advocate for accountability.
For Prince Jordan Tyson, public service has never been about recognition, titles, or personal gain—it has always been about protecting people, preserving justice, and remaining faithful to the principle that one person can make a meaningful difference in the lives of others.
